The Design Consultation…

This is the beginning of the process to pull your landscape vision out of your thoughts and into your yard, tailoring it to your lifestyle. Our designer will visit with you in your own home, introduce our company, give you a tour of our portfolio book, and then, begin to listen. True design, tailored to you, can only come from an upfront understanding of exactly who you are, what you value, your goals, happy moments, and your life experiences. This can only come from listening to you while you explain the details of your vision, feeling your passion as you speak about this exciting new vision, walking outside with you to see the existing environment, and asking limited questions to pull more information out. We want to understand you and all your hopes, dreams, and lifestyle. Our designer wants to begin to establish a relationship that will be a lasting one, one that goes far beyond the installation of your project, and at this time, they will become YOUR designer. This experience with your designer, along with measurements and photos we will take, provide us with a personal insight to you and your project…now to the Design Studio!

The Design Studio…

This is where the vault doors are closed behind and we do what we do…the artistry of creating your new environment! We spend time gathering all the information, surveys, photos, and home plans need for this creative process. Then, your designer becomes immersed in your project, seeing your home through your eyes, while handling the design as if it were their own home. It is an environment and process of true creative energy where science, architecture, nature, and art are melted together for a finished design that your vision began to create. We use any technique that we feel necessary to convey the design to you: a master design layout, hand-drawn sketches, CAD documents, engineering specifications, full color renderings, and elevation cross sections…the vault doors open and your designer emerges!

The Unveiling…

Your designer will emerge from the Design Studio and once again be back in the comfort of your own home. For the first time, you now see your vision realized on paper…enjoy the view as your designer takes you through your new environment. While discussing the design, we stress that this is an open forum for you to ask questions to understand exactly what we are doing and why. You will be taken through all the aspects of the design and installation, along with cost estimates and photo tools to help you make decisions to formulate the scope of the project moving forward. The scope of work will be discussed and an installation package formed…here come the bootstraps!

The Bootstraps on the Ground…

The design is done, a deal is made, the Bootstraps are on their way! This phase is where the muscle and brawn of Barkley Landscapes & Design Group is realized. But don’t let the Bobcats and Quad-Axel trucks fool you: our courteous crafts people take great care in those finishing details that make a true, high-quality design come to life. Their knowledge of old world charm, product specifications, engineering principals, and new age technology combine breathing life into the design renderings you were so excited about while giving you that distinctive style you always dreamed of. Throughout this process, your designer works seamlessly with the production team to make sure the design layout and overall installation has the “feel” of the finished product you and your designer had created. Now, your space has truly becomes realized…CHEERS!

The Follow Up…

The Bootstraps have left and the production team is done, and in their wake, they have left behind a breath-taking, organic landscape that was once only a vision in your mind. Enjoy the time now with your designer as you walk through the incredible environment we have just created. They will guide you through the design features that were only once on a piece of vellum, talk to you about both general and specific maintenance, and answer all your questions. This is a time to celebrate, not only the new landscape that has been created, but the relationship that has been built that will carry on for years to come…it’s time to enjoy and make new moments in your outdoor environment!
